Frequently Asked Questions About Inverter/UPS Batteries

Did not find your question? Send us your questions at sales@perfectenergy.in
Do inverter/UPS units already have internal batteries, or do I need to attach external batteries instead?
The Battery can use the following categories to categorize the battery setup for various inverter/ups models:
Only internal batteries are used in this case, and depending on the load connected to the UPS, it can operate for various lengths of time. Internal batteries with the ability to extend runtime are available in some models. When combined with the internal Battery, these external batteries extend the UPS's runtime. Not all models allow for the external connection of additional batteries; to find out if a model supports this feature, check its specs.
Batteries can only be attached externally in these models, which only support external batteries.
I want to extend the runtime of my inverter/ups. Can I attach any capacity/any number of batteries?
The charging current that an inverter can give defines the capacity of the Battery that should be connected to it since it controls how quickly and damage-free the Battery may be fully charged. Typically, the Battery's capacity shouldn't be greater than 12 times the inverter's maximum capacity for charging current. If the Battery discharges less frequently (say, once every ten days), It can extend the battery capacity to 20 times the inverter's maximum charging current in such extreme circumstances. Additionally, to prevent damage to the Battery during charging, the charging current offered by the inverter should be lower than the Battery's limiting current.Be aware that when connecting numerous batteries in parallel, the inverter's battery charger should be able to supply the charging current needed by each individual Battery. It is irrelevant when linking batteries in series because they all receive the same amount of inverter charging current.
Why does my inverter not offer enough backup?
• Kindly clean your battery terminals, possibly replacing them if rusty, and tighten the wire legs as necessary. The Battery is overheating (check the battery gravity; it should not be greater than 1240 in each cell); Inverter/UPS charging lights stop blinking; Battery is dry or has less distilled water; (Looks like a battery problem, Pls purchase a new battery)
• Use heavy appliances (such as a geyser, microwave, refrigerator, etc.) Eliminate any extra load from the inverter.
What different forms of UPS are there?
UPS systems are divided into various categories based on their topology or the electrical design employed. These are Line-interactive UPS, Online UPS, and Offline UPS (sometimes referred to as Standby UPS) (also known as Double Conversion Online UPS). The key area where the three architectures diverge is the amount of power conditioning they offer when running on grid and battery power. Offline, Line-interactive, and Online topologies are listed in ascending power quality provided order.
How far can I install my inverter or UPS from the Battery?
A UPS or inverter should ideally be located close to the UPS, with a recommended maximum distance of 5 feet from the batteries. Use larger cables to link from the UPS to the batteries if you increase this distance..
Where should I keep my home's inverter and Battery?
• Attempt to keep your inverter no closer than 2-3 meters from the primary MCB. Never place any metal or moist material on the Battery to save on wiring costs. It might start a fire because of an explosion or short circuit.
• The inverter and Battery must remain in the exact location. Battery care requires regular attention, such as topping off with distilled water, so keep your inverter in a location that is simple to access. The battery wire that comes with the inverter should not be extended.
• Avoid keeping an inverter in the kitchen. Keep youngsters away from the bathroom, and keep your inverter within easy reach. It is simple to use and straightforward to troubleshoot. Inverters occasionally produce heat when operating, so don't store them in airtight cabinets. Ventilation is required; else, battery life is decreased. To avoid sunlight
